The Punjab Environment Tribunal has summoned owners of 40 tanneries and 20 rice mills in different cases of environmental pollution.

The cases have been instituted against them for spreading larger scale environmental pollution in Sialkot city and its outskirts.

According to the EPA local officials, the Punjab Environment Tribunal Lahore has advised the owners of the tanneries and rice mills to appear in tribunal on the different given dates of the month of October, with the complete record.

The EPA Sialkot officials said that the accused owners are reluctant to appear in tribunal in separate cases against them due to which the tribunal has issued their summons.

Earlier, the EPA Sialkot had issued the show cause notices to the owners of tanneries and rice mills for creating environmental pollution in the Sialkot region.
