Water level in the River Chenab and seasonal Nullahs here receded during Eid days despite the flood warning issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) before Eid.

Before Eid, it had feared high floods following the heavy rains in Sialkot region and in all the catchment areas in neighbouring Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The flood situation remained completely under control during the Eid Days, as there were very less rains in Sialkot region on the eve of Eidul Azha. An administration official said that the flow of water was 29,412 cusecs in Rive Chenab at Head Marala near Sialkot on Sunday as the water level receded from Thursday’s 165,488 cusecs. The situation was normal as the Chenab remained calm.

Flow of flood water was 2,739 cusecs in Rive Tavi 2,739 cusecs near Head Marala. It flooded Nullah Dek with 4,612 cusecs water flow which receded from 16,755 cusecs.

He revealed that the water level was receding in rivers Chenab, Tavi and Jammu and seasonal Nullahs Aik, Dek, Bhed, Palkhu, Baeen and Bassanter due to which the flood situation was under control.
