PTI undecided on Shehbaz becoming PAC chief

ISLAMABAD  -  The ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has yet not finalised the name of Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif as the Chairman Public Accounts Committee as differences yet persisting among the party leaders over the name of Shehbaz Sharif despite Prime Minister Imran Khan and Speaker NA Asad Qaisar meeting.

Prime Minister Imran Khan is in hot waters over the decision to appoint Shehbaz Sharif as Committee Chairman while other party leaders are also opposing the name of Shehbaz Sharif.

However, the Speaker NA Asad Qaisar has the stance that as per the Parliamentary tradition the Opposition leader should be appointed as PAC Chairman and recommended the party to continue with the Parliamentary tradition.

He told the PM that appointment of Shehbaz will helpful in the continuity of democracy and better working relationship with the Opposition as he also expressed his concerns over the conduct of few Ministers.

Sources said that Imran Khan has postponed the decision till the return of party senior leader and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and halted the Speaker NA to take any decision in this regard.

Sources informed that on the return of the Shah Mehmood Qureshi Committee will present its recommendation to PM and Imran Khan will take the decision in the light of the Committee recommendations.
