Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa is expected to pay an official visit to the United States in the first week of next month to meet Senior Defense Officials and National Security Officials.
Official sources in the US capital told The Nation that the army chief would hold important meetings at the Pentagon .
The purpose of the visit is to discuss defense and security issues concerning both countries.
The Army chief would also discuss the latest security situation in the region including Afghanistan. He would also take US officials into confidence on the situation in illegally occupied Indian held part of Kashmir and continuous threatening statements by Indian leadership against Pakistan.
Army chief would also speak at prestigious US thinktanks, highlighting Pakistan security needs in the context of emerging terrorism threats from Afghanistan.
