Islamabad: China will start five mega projects worth Rs60 billion in Gwadar next year, an official of the planning commission said.

The projects include health, education, infrastructure, communication, an industrial zone and two thermal power projects of 300 megawatts. A simultaneous work on a water drainage project, a technical training and water treatment plants, will also be carried out to facilitate the residents of Gwadar.

The Chinese government will also establish a hospital, at a cost of Rs10 billion to provide the state-of-the-art treatment facilities to the area residents.
