ISLAMABAD - A delegation of the GHQ led by Vice Chief of General Staff, Major General Umar Farooq Durrani met Finance Minister Ishaq Dar here on Wednesday and discussed the progress of the Operation Zarb-e-Azb and its financial implications.

The Minister on this occasion lauded the achievements made under the operation in eliminating terrorists sanctuaries and high profile targets.

He said that the people and the government fully supported the operation and prayed for its complete success.

He said that necessary funds as stipulated for the operation as well as for rehabilitation of the TDPs were being released regularly.     

The delegation thanked the Minister for his support regarding timely release of funds for the operation and rehabilitation work in the affected areas.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Finance also attended the meeting.

An investiture ceremony was held at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) headquarters in Islamabad Wednesday to confer Non-Operational Military awards upon Officers and Junior Commissioned Officers of PAF for their distinguished services. Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman was chief guest on the occasion.

In the ceremony 20 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), 23 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), five Tamgha-i- Basalat and two Imtiazi Asanad were conferred on officers. Tamgha-i-Khidmat Class-(I) were awarded to 13 Junior Commissioned Officers of PAF.
