Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has constituted the first Prime Minister's Delivery Unit to bring a paradigm shift in the standard of governance and ensuring timely implementation of key development projects.

The Prime Minister was given a presentation by the PMDU team members led by Spokesman Musadik Malik in Islamabad in this regard today.

For the first time in the country's history, a special unit has been formed in the Prime Minister's Office comprising top flight professionals from the private sector, initially tasked by the Prime Minister to support concerned ministries in removing any bottlenecks in effective implementation of LNG related energy projects as well as in projects being planned under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Through the PMDU, the Prime Minister would monitor performance of ministries on a weekly basis.

This will improve inter-ministerial coordination, ensuring their timely response on important public service delivery matters. PMDU will work in close unison with concerned Ministries.
