LAHORE: As many as 1,350,282 cases are pending in different courts across Punjab, as courts have been shortfall of 627 judges.

According to report issued by Lahore High Court, about 150,296 cases are pending in high court and posts of 11 judges are lying vacant.

Similarly, as many as 2,793 bail applications and 280 bail cancellation petitions are pending in the court and other courts.

Around 80 petitioners are waiting transfer of cases to other courts, 1,081 pleas against conviction in drug cases, 822 pleas against punishment awarded by Anti-Terrorism Court, 2,912 miscellaneous petitions of criminal cases and 20,650 other cases are pending in LHC.

Similarly, 8,644 cases pertaining to admissions in private colleges and service matters and 684 rent-related cases are pending in the high court.
