LAHORE   - Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek yesterday challenged advertisement by the federal government in different newspapers to explain allegations levelled against Sharif family in Panama leaks

PTI filed a petition through its leader Javed Badar while PAT filed a plea through Advocate Ishtiaq Ch. The petitioner parties submitted that PML-N government was giving away billions of rupees for ads in different newspapers to give explanation about allegations of Panama leaks against the Sharif family.

The petitioners stated that public money was wasted to defend the family which was very much awful. They said it was burden on the national exchequer as it was mere a wastage of public money.

“PM Nawaz Sharif should have given ads from his own pocket,” they maintained and said that the ruling party has no moral ground to spend public money on such explanatory ads.

They requested the court to order PM to pay the amount spent on ads into public exchequer.
