LAHORE - The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab has announced staging a sit-in outside the Punjab Assembly or Chief Minister Secretariat on May 11 to press for the demand of implementation of service structure, pay raise, direct induction in BPS-18 and withdrawal of 15 per cent deduction in health budget.

Addressing a press conference at Allama Iqbal Medical College yesterday, YDA office bearers Dr Ajmal Chaudhry, Dr Adnan Gondal, Dr Khurram Shahzad, Dr Khuzaima and Dr Ehsan Lali said that decision regarding sit in outside PA or CM Secretariat would be taken on the given date. They said that the YDA has left with no other option except to resort to this extreme step due to indifferent attitude of the rulers.

He said that the doctors were on roads for legitimate demands. They said that even road blockage has failed to remind the government promises made five years back. They said that the sit in would be staged on May 11 if all demands were not accepted.
