No decision made over Judicial Commission: Babar Awan

Federal Minister of Law Mr. Babar Awan has said that no decision yet made about activation of the judicial commission and the government will wait till the court verdict on the 18th amendment, a private TV reported. The Supreme Court hearing petitions challenging various clauses of the 18th Constitutional Amendment. In a press conference here on Monday, Awan said that the nation is waiting for five months for the apex court verdict on 18th amendment. He said the issue of judges appointment can be resolved with constitution of the parliamentary commission. He said the 18th amendment has been the China Wall to stop any extra-constitutional step. Replying a question on MQM leader Altaf Hussain's statement, Babar Awan called it a political statement and denied any possibility of imposition of the Martial Law. On a query on match fixing charges against cricketers, the law minister said they have committed cheating as described in Article IV of the constitution.
