LAHORE - An 18-year-old unidentified one wheelie boy succumbed to injuries minutes after he struck into a speeding bus at Bund Road in Sandha Police precincts early on Saturday. Police investigators maintained that the incident took place at about 7:30am. According to details, the deceased, along with other motorcyclists, was showing dangerous tricks when he hit with a bus (ND-1933), Lahore to Johar Abad, at Bund Road, Double Sarkan Stop. Police said that the driver of the bus fled the scene while the boy succumbed to wounds when he was being taken to the Mayo Hospital. Later, the body was moved to the City morgue for post mortem. Police have registered a case with no arrest so far. NH&MP DIG for soft policing National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) IG Dr Wasim Kauser directed patrolling officers to adopt polite attitude with the violators and present Aftari and Sehri buffets to road users. The IG expressed these views while inspecting the arrangements during the holy month of Ramazan at N-5 Central Zonal office. The DIG Syed Ibne Hussain and SSP Aftab Masood were also present on the occasion. He articulated the standard operating procedure of NH&MP field working and said that the officers must accomplish their responsibilities as per law. He said that attention must be paid to facilitate the road users by providing timely help, basic traffic education and briefing all and sundry. He also hailed the performance of the police officers. He said the motorway police earned a good repute owing to friendly attitude of its official towards commuters.
