PM lauds spirit of government and non-government organizations for coming forward to help their countrymen

The Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has appreciated the spirit of government and non-government organizations for coming forward to help their countrymen in this time of dire need. He expressed these views on the occasion of the cheque presentation by the Federal Minister for Privatisation Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan who along with a delegation of Privatisation Commission officials including the Secretary Shehzad Iqbal called on him to present a cheque on behalf of the Privatisation Commission and its employees worth Rs. 200 million for the Prime Minister's Relief Fund 2010. The Prime Minister thanked for the gesture of the employees of the Privatisation Commission. In addition to the Government's decision for donation of one-day salary, the PC officials have voluntarily contributed one-day salary from grade-1 to 16, grade-17 to 22 two-day salary and five days salary of Consultants of G-I to III. The Federal Minister for Privatisation Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan who has already distributed relief goods worth Rs.30 million jointly by his family members in the flood-hit areas of Dera Ismael Khan has also matched the donation amount equivalent to the total contribution made by the officials and the consultants of the Privatisation Commission.
