PESHAWAR - Two police check posts got slightly damaged when two remote-controlled devices exploded on Peshawar Motorway on Wednesday.

Sources said that the explosive devices had been planted in two separate areas of Reslalpor and Nesata check posts. They said the blasts damaged both the check posts, however no human loss was reported.

They said soon after the blast, motorway police rushed towards the site and cordoned off the area. The security guards of both the check posts were taken into police custody and they are being interrogated.

INP adds: Police have arrested guards after two police check posts were bombed at Peshawar-Islamabad motorway, adding that policemen deployed at the check posts narrowly escaped the blasts.

According to motorway police spokesman, the blasts struck the check posts located in Risalpur and Nesata areas on Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway. He said that the explosives were fitted in the bathrooms of the check posts and as a result of blasts, nearby buildings were damaged.

No one was injured in the blasts as police were patrolling nearby by the time of detonation. However, the check-posts structures were damaged partially.

The spokesman said that investigation is underway from the watchmen arrested from the scene.
