QUETTA - Another four people fell prey to violence in Quetta and Kalat districts of Balochistan on Wednesday.

According to police, Obaidullah Langove along with his friend Naveed was travelling in a rickshaw on Raisani Road of Quetta when gunmen attacked them, wounding them critically. They were rushed to hospital where Obaidullah died.

Police said the deceased was Minister for Planning Ismail Gujjar’s gunman. Police cited family dispute as the motive behind the killing. However, an investigation was on. The body was handed over to family after completing legal formalities.

In Kalat, armed men killed Mujeebur Rehman and injured two passers-by. Following the incident, shopkeepers went on a shutter-down strike to protests against the murder.

Separately, unidentified men strangulated a man in Kalat town and fled. The deceased was identified as Sultan Ahmed. Police have registered a case and arrested two people in connection with the murder. However, investigation was under way. In Quetta, police found a dead body from the rooftop of a hotel in Eastern Bypass area and shifted it to hospital where the deceased was named as Babu.

Meanwhile, security forces recovered 7-kg explosive material planted with a mosque in Dalbandin town of Chagai district. The forces defused explosives with the help of bomb disposal squad. Local administration registered a case

Qudratullah, a resident of Chagai, was on his way when armed men kidnapped him near oil market. However, motive behind the kidnapping could not be ascertained till filing of this report.

In another incident, gunmen kidnapped a man, Adam Khan, from Musa Khel district. Local administration has booked Adam Khan’s uncle and started investigation.
