Lahore High Court (LHC) has constituted a five-member larger bench to hear a contempt case against President Asif Ali Zardari on his sticking to dual offices. Chief Justice of the LHC, Justice Umar Ata Bandial will head the larger bench slated to begin hearing the case from September 5. Other members include Justice Sheikh Najmul Hasan, Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Aijazul Ahsan. Earlier, Justice Bandial set deadline by September 5 for President Zardari to act upon the order regarding letting go of an office of the two. A contempt plea was moved after President Zardari, defying the judicial order, continued keeping both the offices. Petitioner AK Dogar produced the evidences before the court, according to which, President Zardari is actively involved in political activities as co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
