LAHORE - The inaugural Aftab Qarshi Veteran Cricket League will be played here from September 15. Top 12 veteran teams of the city including Amar Cables, Syed Paper Stags and Lahore Whites will participate in the event. This decision was taken in a meeting of the tournament organising committee on Thursday at Alighar Cricket Grind Model Town. Jawaid Ashraf, Qaiser Waheed, Ijaz Ahmed, M Asif, Saifullah, M Kaleem, Prof Nasir Hussian, Tariq Rasheed, Rashid Riaz, Abdul Hameed, Azhar Hussain, Masood Ahmed, Zahid Inayat, Kazim Ali and Zahoor Alam attended the meeting. Chief Coordinator of the event Mohsin Aftab said the tournament would further contribute in cricket promotion. “Our aim is to engage the veteran cricketers in a high-quality cricket activity and we hope this event will prove a big success.”–Staff Reporter
