FAISALABAD
Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mian Zahid Aslam reiterated his previous demand for a piece of land to set up a state-of-the-art educational institution in Faisalabad.
Chairing a meeting of the members of FCCI and educationists at Faisalabad Chamber auditorium, he said that education should be the top priority not only for the government but also for the other influential sectors including business and industry. He said that business community of Faisalabad was fully aware of its social obligation and was already contributing to promotion of education at grassroots level. He said that businessmen in collective and individual capacity are donating generously to various educational institutions. He said that some organsations were giving scholarships to the needy but talented students. The Faisalabad chamber had also decided to provide scholarship worth Rs1.5 million to the needy students and this effort would continue in the future. He said that he strictly believed that only through education, Pakistan could make progress and achieve prosperity. “Hence we want to build a new and state-of-the-art educational institution from the platform of Faisalabad chamber. The leading businessmen have already given a positive nod to donate for its immediate construction,” he said.
He urged the Punjab governor and local authorities to allocate a proper piece of land so that they could start construction and play their role in the promotion of education. On the occasion, FCCI VP Ch M Boota, EDO Community Asif Tarar, Chairman Scholarship Committee Ch Talat Mehmood, Former President Sh Abdul Qayyum, Sh. M Khalid Habib and Rehan Nasim Bharara were also present.
