Five persons including two women were killed and another three including a woman attempted to commit suicide here on Thursday.
According to details, in Bahawalnagar, a proclaimed offender involved in murder of his aunt and grandmother for ‘honour’ shot dead another man here on Thursday.
According to details, three accused attempted to kidnap two women in village Qabool Fatani of Chishtian five days ago but the bid was foiled due to interruption of family and relatives. Muhammad Yar was shot dead by the kidnappers upon resistance during the abducting attempt.
Later, Muhammad Ajmal annoyed over the defaming of his family, in the name of honour murdered his aunt and grandmother and fled the scene. He was declared proclaimed offender.
The accused on Thursday shot at and killed a local landlord allegedly for supporting the kidnappers. The police registered a case against the accused.
In DG KHAN, an angry brother shot dead his sister over suspicion. According to local police, a person namely Nihal doubted his sister Sharma Bibi’s character in Sakhi Sarwar area. The police have registered a case against him.
In BAHAWALPUR, a girl was killed by her father and brother after declaring her Kari. According to details, resident of Mahwalwala near Rahim Yar Khan, Malik Khan’s daughter Hakeeman Bibi had eloped with her lover Dilshaad. However with the involvement of elders of the families Hakeeman Bibi was returned to her family. However, her father Malik Khan and brother Talib Hussain declared her Kari and killed her.
On information the police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to hospital for post-mortem. In another incident, the nose of a youth was chopped off for contracting love marriage by the girl brothers.
As per details, Faiz Bakhsh contracted court marriage with Najma Bibi, a resident of Zahirpir against the will of her family. But Najma’s brothers - Muhammad Akhtar and Muhammad Asghar along with 2 of their accomplices caught Faiz Bakhsh near Tibi Sayedaan and chopped off his nose. The Shiddani Police registered a case against Asghar and Akhtar.
In yet another incident a 9th Grade’s student committed suicide by jumping into the canal due to getting failed in the examination. According to detail, 15-year-old Muhammad Taalib, a resident of 12/BC committed suicide in frustration due to failure in 9th grade examination by jumping into Shashmahi Canal.
In TOBA TEK SINGH, four men allegedly killed a farmer in chak 184/GB near Rajana the other night. According to the Rajana Police, deceased Muhammad Sabir was asleep in his outhouse when Shafqat, Mohsin, Umer Draz and Ansar shot him dead. The police have registered a case.
Meanwhile, in GUJRANWALA, three persons including a young girl attempted to commit suicide here on Thursday.  According to hospital sources, a 22-year-old woman, a resident of Haidri Road, 24-year-old Kamran of Khiali area and 22-year-old Imran of Balewala area attempted to commit suicide by swallowing poisonous pills. They were taken to DHQ Hospital. The motive behind suicide attempts is said to be domestic problems and joblessness.
