Knackered transformer deprives villagers of power

The failure of power transformer has deprived more than 500 families of Jalwal village of electricity for the past three days.
A resident namely Malik M Ayub Sunbal and other villagers told this reporter that SE Shafiq Chohan and SDO Sajid had informed about the failure of transformer but they didn’t take any action. They said that the government had increased power tariff exorbitantly but failed to fulfil the needs of the consumers. Meanwhile, Lesco Jand SDO M Sajid said that the transformer of village Jalwal was recently installed and had a warranty. He said that the company had been informed about the replacement of the transformer in two days and electricity would be restored soon.
TWO held: The police have arrested two gamblers identified as Shehzad and Sheraz, residents of Mithial village from the jurisdiction of Basal Police.
Meanwhile the police have also registered case against some other gamblers namely Bashir Malyar, Noor Khan, Asif, Fazaldad, Mukhtiar, Tanveer and Nasir. They were involved in gambling escaped from the crime scene.
