Tevta, ILO join hands


LAHORE - TEVTA will join hands with International Labour Organization to prepare strategic plan according to the requirement of National Skill Strategy for the development of TVET sector in Pakistan. It will help skill upgradation of the youth of Pakistan.
It was decided in a meeting of Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Ali with a two-member delegation of ILO including Consultant ILO Paul Comyun and Program Manager (EET) Ms Rabia Razzaq here at TEVTA Secretariat. Senior management of TEVTA was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, areas of cooperation, modalities and steps for making an efficient plan were discussed in detail. A committee of TEVTA officers, comprising of general managers HRM, Operations and Academics, was constituted to work with ILO to get its technical support for the development and implementation of the plan.
According to the details of the meeting, ILO would assist TEVTA for the capacity building of its senior management, head of institutes and teachers on competency based training (CBT)
It would enhance the skills of TEVTA about Management of Training Institutes (MOTI) and Institutionalizing Career Counseling and Vocational Guidance in Pakistan.
TOR would also be developed to carry out a study to explore selected trades/industries in identified district of Punjab to design intervention to integrate skills and literacy training program.
The said strategic plan is worthwhile for TEVTA to consolidate its resources and assure its efficient utilization after setting clear directions and objectives for streamlining, development and progress of TVET across the province of the Punjab.
