LAHORE - PR - Hundreds of Wapda/e1ectricity workers took out a procession on Thursday under the aegis of All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union (CBA).

The workers took out procession from Bakhtiar Labour Hall and marched through various roads carrying national flag and banners in support of their demands and raising slogans against price hike and feudalism and crony capitalism and unsafe working conditions and undue harassment of some FIA officials and held a protest rally at Luxumi Chowk. The rally was addressed by veteran trade union leader Khurshid Ahmed who called upon the Government to get resolved the genuine problems facing the working class and held a tripartite labour conference to tackle labour and economic and social issues concerning the working class. It was also addressed by Ch Maqsood Ahmed, Rana Muhammad Akram, Sajid Kazmi, Osama Tariq, Malik Noor Muhammad, Rana Abdul Shakoor and others.

The workers decided to hold rally all over the country on 4th September in collaboration with Pakistan Workers Confederation in support the demands of the workers.
