LAHORE - The Punjab government is taking effective against adulteration in eatable items, PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz said on Saturday.

“Protection of citizens’ health is the top priority of PML-N government,” he said while talking to a delegation of milk sellers’ association.

Hamza assured the Gowala Association that its reservations related to government institutions will be checked and strict action will be taken against those preparing adulterated and unhygienic milk.

Deterrent punishments are being proposed for people involved in this heinous business of food adulteration, he said.

Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Minister for Food Bilal Yasin, Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal and senior authorities were present on the occasion.

Office bearers of Gowala Association assured their complete cooperation to the government in the ongoing campaign and demanded that instead of retailers, action should be taken against big fish preparing substandard milk.

The participants appreciated the performance of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and offered all out support.
