WASHINGTON: Diplomatic sources have confirmed that the United States government has decided to set free the Pakistani prisoner named Ahmad Rabbani from Guantanamo prison.

It was in the year 2002 when Muhammad Ahmad Rabbani was arrested from Karachi and subsequently handed over to the United States. Diplomatic sources have also confirmed that Ahmad Rabbani used to drive taxi for a living in Karachi. Owing to his command over Arabic, Ahmad was mistaken as a Yemeni citizen. There were some serious allegations of links with Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden against Ahmad.

A few years back, Ahmad Rabbani also observed hunger strike in Guantanamo Prison and was cleared of all allegations charged against him after 14 years. Sources also confirmed that a meeting will be held in Guantanamo prison on 1st September.
