American consul general greets CM

LAHORE  -  American Consul General Colleen Elizabeth Crenwelge called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office Wednesday.

She congratulated Buzdar on assuming the office of chief minister and extended good wishes to him. The chief minister also congratulated her for assuming the charge of US consul general in Lahore. During the meeting, various matters of mutual interest including expansion of bilateral cooperation in different sectors and development of social sector came under discussion.

Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said that Pakistan-US relations span over many decades and both the countries have remained partners in the war against terrorism. The menace of terrorism has become an international nuisance and Pakistan has rendered invaluable sacrifices in its war against terrorism. He said that people have voted for change and added that people of Pakistan are striving for complete transformation under the leadership of prime minister Imran Khan. We have to work for public welfare while facing different challenges because work is our only agenda, he said. He said a committee has been constituted by the PTI government for setting up the southern punjab province.

Separately, Director General of Rangers Punjab Major General Azhar Naveed Hayat called on Sardar Usman Buzdar. He congratulated the chief minister over the new assignment and extended good wishes to him.

The chief minister paid tributes to the glorious services of officers and jawans of rangers for maintaining peace and protection of national borders.

He said that services of rangers are praiseworthy for improving the law and order situation and protection of national defense. The nation is proud of the services of brave officers and jawans of rangers.

The security forces have written a new history of bravery by rendering glorious sacrifices in war against terrorism and there is no other example of such great sacrifices in the history of the world. Pakistan’s defense is impregnable and the enemies cannot see towards us with an evil eye, he concluded.

 

Condolences

Punjab chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has condoled the death of legendary Pakistani sepoy Maqbool Hussain who had languished in Indian jails for 40 years. He has extended sympathies to the heirs and said in his condolence message that sepoy Maqbool Hussain exhibited valor and bravery during the war of 1965. Sons like sepoy Maqbool Hussain are our pride and may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant solace to the heirs, concluded the chief minister.

Also, Buzdar has condoled the death of mother of Mujahid Shaikh, senior journalist and chief reporter Lahore News. In his condolence message, the chief minister prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

Buzdar expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of wife of Khizar Hayat Gondal, former chief secretary punjab. In his condolence message, the chief minister has extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.

Meanwhile, District Council of DG Khan approved a consensus resolution in favour of Buzdar. The resolution has congratulated Buzdar on assuming the charge of chief minister Punjab and stated that district council DG Khan assures full support and cooperation to the chief minister.

This house is of the opinion that chief minister is fully aware of different issues of the province and he will initiate necessary steps to solve the problems of the people along with development of southern punjab. This resolution was presented by vice chairman and convener Sardar Javed Khan Qaisrani which was unanimously approved.
