Electioneering for DBA polls picks up


SIALKOT - The campaign for the annual elections of Daska Bar Association and Pasrur Bar Association was gaining momentum day by day in both the tehsils as the polling will be held on January 14.
In Daska, as many as two candidates, Dilawar Hussain Goraya and Ch Lateef Ghani, have submitted their nomination papers for the slot of President, two candidates Syed Amjad Iqbal Gillani and Munawar Chheena for vice president, Nasir Ali Ghuman and Mian Nasir Ahmed for general secretary, Sheikh Saqib Hameed, Zaheer Bhatti and Ehsan Ghuman, Akmal Sajjad Basra for joint secretary, Abid Ali Mughal and Zahid Mehmood Goraya for library secretary. The scrutiny of the nomination papers has been started.
In Pasrur, 261 voters will cast their votes during the annual elections of Pasrur Bar Association, as an Ejection Commission has been formulated under the supervision of senior lawyer Khalid Mehmood Alva for holding the free, fair, transparent and peaceful elections of PBA.
Two candidates Ch Suhail Altaf and Ch Ashraf Sulehriya have submitted their nomination papers for the President slot, while Ch Ilyas Ali Jathol and Rana Irfan Attari will contest for the post of general secretary.
Talking to the newsmen, Ch Ilyas Ali Jathol has claimed to enjoy the complete support of as many as 161 members of PBA.
