LAHORE – The body of a 19-year-old girl, seemingly belonging to a rich family, was recovered from a drain in the Race Course police precincts on Thursday. The body had severe torture marks on it.

The body of the deceased, yet to be identified, was found in the drain opposite Beacon House National University, on the Zafar Ali Road. Police investigator said that some passerby had spotted the body, which was covered in a shawl. It  was later shifted to the City morgue for autopsy.

A senior police officer claimed that the skull of the victim was hit so badly that her brain had had come out. Inspector Ch Munawar Hussain Hanjera said the girl seemed from a well-off family.

2 die in mishaps: Two persons were killed in different road accidents in the City on Thursday. The 19-year-old Munawar of Fateh Garh was ran over by a speeding tractor trolley in Chung.  Meanwhile, the 35-year-old M Ramazan was hit by a speeding car in Barki police area. The injured was taken to the General Hospital where he died.
