LAHORE – Faisalabad, Lahore and Sialkot registered victories on the second day of the second PHF Inter Academy Hockey Tournament while Gojra and Bannu played a 1-1 draw at Sialkot Hockey Stadium on Thursday.
Lahore played a goalless first half with Abbottabd but finished 2-0 at the end of the scheduled time. The key scores of Lahore were Aqeel Aslam and Awaisur Rehman who score goals in the 34th and 53rd minutes respectively. Faisalabad beat Quetta 3-1 before being one goal up at interval. The scorers for Faisalabad were Hassan Anwar, M Shan and Mudassar Ali while for Quetta the only goal came from M Qasim.
Sialkot led the first session 3-0 finally wrapping up the match against Karachi with firm 5-0 lead. For Sialkot M Ali and Nohaiz Zahid netted two goals each while Qasim Ahmed added one.
Bannu were 1-0 at half time against Gojra who equalised in the second half. For Bannu, Fahad scored lone goal which was equalised by Gojra’s Atiq Arshad.
Today’s matches: Karachi vs Bahwalpur and Quetta vs Abbottobad.
