Pakistan team to leave for England today


LAHORE – A seven-member squash team will leave for England today (Friday) to feature in British Open Junior Squash Tournament commencing from January 1.
Team's coach former world number two Gogi Alluddin said that the players from 13 to 19 years old are part of the team.
“I am confident that some of them will make their mark at international level by putting up a par excellence performance," he said on Thursday on the eve of the departure of the team.
Punjab will be fielding two players Ahmad Amin and Hamza Bokhari in U-19 and three players are in U-17 group including Ali Bokhari, Ammad Fareed and Tayyab Aslam while Israr Ahmad is in U-15 and Kashif Asif is in U-13.
The Punjab Squash Association (PSA) has sponsored the trip of their three outstanding players, Israr, Ali and Tayyab and remaining are bearing their own expense to get experience and exposure in the event being participated by nearly 20 countries. The team will return home on January 8.
