KARACHI - The Provincial Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed announced that as many as 411,519 children, up to age of nine months to 10 years, will be vaccinated against measles in the province.

Around 130,004 children had already been administered with the anti-measles vaccinations in the most affect districts of the province, he said in a statement issued on Saturday. The Health Minister said that the anti-measles campaign was being held simultaneously in Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Kambar, Nawabshah, Shikarpur and Ghotki districts, while the government had organised 20 anti-measles camps to provide vaccination facilities in all affected area.

He informed that at least 1,235 measles cases had so far surfaced in the province, while total 56 deaths were reported.

The Minister said that Sindh Health Secretary Sindh Aftab Ahmed Khatri had been directed to monitor the campaign.
