It is very disappointing to see that the education system of district Mirpurkhas has completely ruined. Mirpurkhas is the fourth largest city of Sindh but still it lacks a good educational institution where parents could send their children with confidence that they would come out well versed in modern disciplines or even in traditional subjects. Added to this sense of deprivation is the existence of a corrupt Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

The Mirpurkhas board is open to all those who wish their children to secure good positions in examination in exchange for money. For a student who is absent from the examination but belongs to the privileged classes, the staff possesses a magic wand which graces them with high marks; this seems to be the current trend in the board. Now the residents of Mirpurkhas seem to have decided not to waste money on coaching classes or books. It is more convenient to invest directly with BISE Mirpurkhas and get the desired result.

One can assess the standards of this board by visiting its website or making a phone call to it. The website has grammatically wrong English on the first page. The board’s phones are never answered and, if answered, no one is ready to help. I request the concerned authorities to save our children’s future.

DR SUNIL CHOHAN,
