LAKKI MARWAT – A police constable was killed in Abakhel village, some 10 kilometres away from here on Saturday, when he was on leave in his village.

“The incident occurred in the limits of Lakki Marwat Police Station”, said an official. He said that Khursheed Khan, a Frontier Reserve Police Force constable had come to the village on leave where unidentified persons shot him dead. The deceased constable received a bullet in his head, which proved fatal for him.

He and his family had no enmity with anyone in and outside the village”, the official said quoting father of the deceased constable. He said the dead body was shifted to the Government City Hospital for autopsy.

The villagers also reached the hospital when they heard the gory incident. After fulfilling medico-legal formalities the dead body was handed over to the elative for burial. Police registered a case and began investigation.
