VEHARI - DCO Ehsan Bhutta said that many mega projects for the welfare of people were in progress and many others in the pipeline which help ensure development in the district.

He was addressing a seminar at District Resource Centre organised by District Civil Society Network, Pakistan Students Welfare Organisation and AL-Falha Welfare society here the other day. The EDO (Health) briefed the participants about the up-gradation of DHQ Hospital and problems that the District Health Department was facing.

He announced that the delivery cases at RHC, THQ and DHQ hospitals will be entertained free of cost along with free medicines. To a query about insanitation in hospitals, the EDO said that many sanitary workers were recruited on political basis and were not working according to their job that was major cause of poor sanitation in the hospitals.

He also demanded the DCO an inquiry into the irregularities in previous recruitment of class 4 employees.

Pakistan Students Welfare Organisation chairman Mian Jahanzeb demanded the Health Department for early completion of the up-gradation of DHQ Hospital.

Bar election:  District Bar Association election board chairman Ramzan Cheechi announced the schedule for the bar elections to be held on January 12.  According to the schedule, nomination papers will be filed on January 2 and scrutiny will be held on January 4.

The nomination papers can be withdrawn till January 5.
