LAHORE - Speakers at a seminar have urged the government to take steps for providing equal rights to all religious minorities as ensured in the constitution.

Aaghaz Foundation arranged the seminar on ‘Rights of Religious Minorities in Pakistan’, in Collaboration with Umeed Jawan Program at Al-Hamra on Monday.

Chairman Ulama Aman Committee Dr Akeel-ur-Rehman Pirzada, President Sikh Gordawara Perbandahk Committee Pakistan Sardar Sham Singh, Ram Chand Randhawa, Samson Salamat, Salman Abid, Bishop Akram Gill, Tehseen Fawad, Shazia Khan, Abdullah Malik, Iftikhar Rasul Sheikh and Anjum Razand called upon the government to honor its commitment made at International Forum and ensure security of life and property of all citizen irrespective of their religion, caste and creed.

They called upon all the segments of the society to forge unity among their ranks and make all out effects to maintain peace, harmony, brotherhood and tolerance.

They said that it was duty of the state to give full protection to the minorities.

They said that the peace of Pakistan has been disturbed by the religious extremists and they were targeting children in educational institutions. They condemned the elements targeting ideology of Pakistan.
