Islamabad - A two-day 1st International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering, Management and sciences (ICETEMS-2014) being organised by Capital Development Authority (CDA) commenced here at Pak-China Friendship Centre on Monday.

This international conference is being arranged by the CDA Training Academy (CTA) in partnership with City University of Science and Information Technology, Islamabad, and in collaboration with department of construction management at East Carolina University, USA, and Auburn University, USA.

Minister for Education KP Atif Khan was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. The conference was presided over by Dr Mansoor Kundi while Member Finance CDA Sher Bhadur Arbab, Executive Director Training Academy Sanaullah Aman, Vice Chancellor City University Prof Attaullah Shah and Chancellor City University Saboor Sethi also attended the inaugural session of the conference. This international conference will conclude on December 30 (today).

The mission of the ICETEMS-2014 conference is to facilitate communication between multidisciplinary teams, especially those involved in engineering, management and sciences. It provides an international forum for the discussion on important topics and emerging trends to develop new knowledge in engineering, information technology, management and sciences.

The focus of the conference is to promote cutting edge interdisciplinary research in these core areas so that efficient and cost-effective solutions are explored for the contemporary problems and issues.

An international scientific committee of renowned experts around the world has reviewed all abstracts and full papers. After competition, accepted papers will be based on quality, relevance and originality. More than 100 participants will read their papers in the conference.

More than 40 delegates from different countries will attend the conference on its concluding day.

EDG Sanaullah Aman has said that the international conference will provide a platform for sharing knowledge and finding solution to complex issues in the field of engineering and management.
