SSGC undertakes major gas theft raid

KARACHI (PR): In continuation of SSGC’s drive against gas theft and minimizing the ratio of UFG (un-Accounted for gas),  SSGC conducted another major raid against direct use of gas in Muhammad Khan colony situated in Baldia Town area.  

After receiving information from reliable sources, the Task Force of SSGC’s Customer Relations Department, led by Nawab Ali Shah, Acting Manager conducted the raid. During the operation, the Task force disconnected more than 1,800 illegal connections, which were obtaining gas through illegal rubber pipe network.  The team promptly disconnected unmetered connections by removing the rubber pipes and plugging in supply lines.

Through these illegal connections, a quantum of about 83 million cubic feet of gas was being annually stolen, which in monetary terms translates to Rs. 17.1 million per annum.

The SSGC officials also moved an application, according to the Gas theft law, in Saeed Abad Police station for registering the FIR against the culprits.

Samsung starts production of 8-Gigabit LPDDR4 DRAM

LAHORE (PR): Samsung Electronics has started mass producing the industry’s first 8 gigabit (Gb) low power double data rate 4 (LPDDR4) mobile DRAM based on the company’s leading-edge 20-nanometer (nm) process technology. LPDDR memories are the most widely used “working memory” for mobile devices worldwide.

“By initiating production of the 20nm 8Gb LPDDR4, which is even faster than the DRAM for PCs and servers and consumes much less energy, we are contributing to the timely launch of UHD, large-screen flagship mobile devices,” said Joo Sun Choi, Executive Vice President of Memory Sales and Marketing at Samsung Electronics. “As this major advancement in mobile memory demonstrates, we will continue to closely collaborate with global mobile device manufacturers to optimize DRAM solutions, making them suitable for next-generation mobile OS environments.”

Protest against SDO killing

LAHORE (PR): Elecy. Wapda workers and engineers held a mass protest rally and demanded the arrest of killer of Engineer Rai Zayyad Ahmed, SDO, Itthad Colony, Sub Division, LESCO.

The rally was participated by thousands of the workers and engineers led by Khurshid Ahmed, General Secretary of the Union and Mujahid Ahmed Billa, Senior Vice President of Engineers Association. Thereafter the protestors took the procession to Assembly Hall. Chanting slogans against terrorism and condemning killing of innocent engineers and children at Peshawar School. The rally adopted resolution urging the government to provide security to the staff while carrying out their duty.

UBL Funds awarded MAP’s Excellence Award
