ISLAMABAD- Detention of Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi, major accused in Mumbai attack case could not come to end under the orders of Islamabad High Court (IHC). He was arrested again in a case of abduction of a citizen.

Lakhvi was produced before court of additional magistrate Malik Aman Ullah, in a case of kidnapping of a citizen Anwar Khan today. Golra police sought 2- day physical remand of the accused from the court which was given.

Lakhvi was arrested 6 years back in Mumbai attack case. Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) had ordered for his release being incomplete prosecution from CID officers. Security Forces had arrested him again and detained him for one month. Raja Rizwan Abbasi counsel for the accused had challenged one month detention of his client in the court.

Justice Noor ul Haq N Qureshi had suspended the notification issued with regard to detention of Lakhvi and issued orders for releasing Lakhvi. Islamabad Police has arrested him again on the charges of kidnapping a citizen.

Raja Rizwan Abbasi, counsel for Lakhvi while talking to journalists said, police had arrested his client illegally. He has been detained illegally since the last 6 years in Mumbai attack case and even no evidence could be produced in ATC against the accused. “We will face all cases instituted against my client in the court”, he declared.
