Man throws boiling water on beloved

Rawalpindi - A 35-year-old lover poured boiling water on his 19-year-old beloved here at Naseerabad area on Monday.
The lover indentified as Kashif alias Kashi, a car showroom owner, managed to escape the scene and the girl was rushed to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where doctors provided her medical treatment. The girl was identified as Rabia Shaheen.
Irshad Bibi, the mother of the victim, told The Nation that a man namely Kashif liked her daughter Rabia Shaheen and wanted to marry her. She said that he sent his proposal for Rabia which was rejected by her and her husband. She added that on night falling between Sunday and Monday, Kashif arrived their home and dined with the family during which he was informed that Rabia got engaged with some other man. She said that he listened to the entire saga and assured her that he would help them in the marriage of Rabia. “In the next morning Rabia put kettle on stove for preparing tea when Kashif suddenly lifted the kettle and poured boiling water on her and fled,” she said, adding that she shifted Rabia to DHQ in critical condition. She informed that she had lodged complaint with PS Naseerabad for registration of a case against the accused.
A doctor, providing medical treatment to the girl, told that the girl sustained slight burnt injuries and was discharged after initial medical treatment. Doctors suggested police to lodge case against the accused.
SHO PS Naseerabad, when contacted, said that he received complaint from the victim girl and called the mother of girl today (Tuesday) at 9:00am for a meeting and to launch legal action against the accused.
