Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated the 2,400 km long western route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) at Zhob, Balochistan, Waqt News reported.

While addressing the ceremony PM said Balochistan will become the centre of Pakistan’s progress. “Progress of Pakistan is directly related to the prosperity of Balochistan and this project will end the unemployment and poverty in the province,” he stated. “The roads like the 194 km long Gwadar-Khoshab, or the 454 km long Quetta-Sohrab-Gwadar, or the 243 km long Khuzdar-Bancho Hill-Shahdad Kot and other roads in the province will be completed by 2016 and 2017,” he claimed.

He further said government is spending Rs 150 to 200 billion on these projects. “We owe this to Balochistan” he said. “We will connect Gwadar Port to the whole country and the whole region till Central Asia,” he added. “A state-of-the-art airport is being constructed in Gwadar which will establish a strong network with other parts of the region,” he added.

“I am thankful to all political parties for showing their support to the CPEC project,” he said. “NWO is working on the project and despite the security issues the organization is working day in and out,” he said while appreciating the organization. “Terrorism is an issue for which we all have to work together if we want to eradicate it,” he said.

PM also congratulate Sanaullah Zehri on becoming new CM of Balochistan and Raheela Durrani on becoming first female deputy speaker of Balochistan Assembly.
