Roads opened after KP CM takes notice of president's protocol

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Pervaiz Khattak today took notice of President Mamnoon Hussain’s protocol on his arrival in Peshawar.

According to details, the president had been scheduled to attend the concluding ceremony of FATA Youth Festival at Qayyum Stadium today at 2 pm, due to which the roads heading towards the venue were blocked for traffic, creating difficulties for the residents.

The natives faced problems because of the barriers placed on the roads and demanded the authorities to take action. Acting on the directives of the CM, the concerned department has opened the roads for traffic while ensuring foolproof security of the president.

Earlier, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan vowed to put an end to VIP protocol. He said that traffic will not be stopped for anyone including Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Announcing an end to VIP protocol, Chairman PTI expressed sorrow over the death of 10-year-old Bisma. He said that the nation mourns the loss of the young child as much as the loss of life at APS Peshawar.

In an apparent jibe at the Bilawal Bhutto, he said that if someone is so afraid of death, he should sit at home. Khan said that no one even CM KP would be allowed VIP protocol from now onwards.
