LAHORE - The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party on Friday approved development scheme of local government sector with an estimated cost of Rs 4,705 million.
The scheme was approved in the 41st meeting of the PDWP of current fiscal year 2017-18, presided over by Chairman of P&D Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan. Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, All Members of the Planning and Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned, Assistant Chief P&D Coordination-II Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments also attended the meeting.
The approved development scheme included: Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Dehaat Programme with the cost of Rs 4,705 million.
Motorbike Ambulance Service progress report
The Motorbike Ambulance Service (MAS) has so far efficiently responded to 16,917 emergencies in divisional Headquarters of Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala and Sahiwal with an average response time of 4.5 minutes. These complaints were lodged 3,646 in Lahore, 1,002 in Multan, and 580 in Gujranwala and Sahiwal. Director General Punjab Emergency Service Dr Rizwan Naseer reviewed performance of Motorbike Ambulance Service (MAS) in a meeting, held at the Emergency Services Headquarters on Friday.
The meeting discussed working and operational affairs of the newly-launched initiative in order to ensure timely response to emergencies during traffic jams and in congested areas of major cities of the Punjab. The MAS has reduced the burden of ambulances as 11,117 emergencies, out of 16,917, were provided first aid at the accident site by professionally trained MAS staff. Therefore, no ambulance or shifting was required to hospitals. The data revealed that MAS responded to 11,096 road crashes, 4,343 medical emergencies, 353 fall from height, 561 work occupational injuries, 216 crime incidents, three drowning emergencies, 134 fire emergencies, three building collapse, one furnace blast and 207 emergencies of miscellaneous nature. He appreciated District Emergency Officers (DEOs) for smooth and successful running of MAS and ordered for ensuring provision of timely, quality and professional emergency services to all citizens without any discrimination.
Music moot on Jan 1
All Pakistan Music Conference will be held at Alhamra in coordination with the Lahore Arts Council on January 1. Classical singers and musicians will perform in the one-day music conference.
