PM pays tribute to Shaheed AIG Noor

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday met family members of Shaheed AIG Ashraf Noor at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Noor embraced martyrdom on November 24, 2017 as a result of terrorist attack on his vehicle.

The prime minister paid tribute to the ultimate sacrifice of the senior police officer and observed that personnel of law-enforcement agencies had rendered huge sacrifices for the security of the motherland.

He said that the entire nation greatly valued those sacrifices that the valiant sons of the soil had rendered in the line of duty.  We are indeed indebted to each drop of their blood. The mission of our martyrs will continue till its logical conclusion, the prime minister said. He assured the bereaved family that the federal government would continue to provide every possible support to the families of the martyrs.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) led by its chairman Dr Saeed Elahi called on Prime Minister Abbasi.

The delegation briefed the prime minister on the ongoing projects of the PRC, new initiatives and future plans during the meeting.

The prime minister appreciated the role of the PRC for humanitarian assistance, its operations during disasters and provision of health services.  Abbasi also acknowledged the role of the PRC in community-based social work and development for empowering the community in addressing core civic issues through better awareness.
