Qasim wants more austro turfs at all grounds

LAHORE - President Pakistan Hockey Federation Qasim Zia has urged the need of installing austro turf at all the places where hockey is being played. He said that it's the foremost priority of the PHF to get the turf at those locations where the game is flourishing. "We want every possible facility available for the players to learn the game," he added. He also talked about the uplift of the women hockey at par with the males players. "We want the see the women hockey played to the same levels the men hockey is played. "For the purpose the PHF is providing complete support to the women hockey and a women academy will soon be established at Lahore," said he. The game require a solid base and for the purpose it is being revived at school and college level and the institutes where the game is played is being given 10,000 hockey sticks," he said and added that the champion school would also be given an opportunity to tour foreign countries.
