Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has issued tenders for buying super basmati rice and irri-6 5000 tons each. TCP released handout said that the interested parties could submit their offers by February 26. Rice Exporters Association (REA) president, Rahim Janoo said that TCP had earlier accepted offers buying 25,000 tons basmati and 10,000 tons irri-6, but due to financial constraints, it couldn't lift the rice from the market. In view of this the growers were not being able to decide whether they should sell rice to TCP or not or else they sell it to the exporters. Federal Commerce Minister, Amin Faheem has assured the exporters that he would halt TCP and Pasco from buying rice so that the exporters could fetch good price in the world market.
