NA body wants US officials at meeting

SLAMABAD (APP) - National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior has directed secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ask the US Consulate Lahore to send their representative to attend the meeting which will take up the issue of killing of three persons by an employee of the consulate. According to official documents available with APP, the meeting will be held on Jan 31 at the Parliament House. Abdul Qadir Patel MNA, Chairman NA Stranding Committee on Interior, will preside over the meeting. Interior Minister Rehman Malik, secretary and other officials concerned of ministry also have also been asked to attend the meeting, according to the document. The committee also asked the IGP Punjab along with the DCO and CCPO Lahore to attend meeting with all concerned and ensured the presence of heirs those killed the official of US Consulate. It directed the authorities concerned to provide a comprehensive report on the killings by Raymond David. It may be recalled that an employee of the US consulate in Lahore shot dead two youths, while a third was crushed by the driver of vehicle who was called by him for help, at Qartaba Chowk on Thursday.
