Supreme Court takes suo moto notice of medicine reaction deaths

 The Supreme Court of Pakistan has taken suo moto notice of the medicine reaction deaths in Lahore.
Notices have been issued to the attorney general, advocate general Punjab, federal and provincial secretaries, DG FIA and IG Punjab.
A Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Tassaduq Jillani will hear the case on Tuesday.
More than 109 people have died in Lahore after taking the substandard medicine dispensed by the Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
The Chief Justice Mr Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry took the notice on a note by Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani who drew the attention of the Chief Justice regarding the news of the death of heart patients under treatment in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology allegedly on account of either spurious drugs or wrong prescription of blood thinning and lipid lowering medicines.
