QUETTA - Armed men shot at and killed a religious scholar in the provincial capital, police said Wednesday.
Maulana Abdullah died instantly when armed men on a bike opened fire at him on Sabzal Road near Uzbak Chowk. The body of the deceased was shifted to Bolan Medical College Hospital for medico-legal formalities and, later, handed it over to the heirs.
Reportedly, the deceased was a senior leader of Afghan Ulema Ittehad Council. The police have started investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, unknown miscreants blew up two gas pipelines in Dera Bugti district on Wednesday, Levies sources confirmed.
“Unknown men placed explosives on the two gas pipelines of eight inches in Pir Koh area of Dera Bugti and blew them up,” Levies official said, adding that as a result of the blast, gas supply to the plant was suspended. The local administration reached the site and started investigating the incident.
