PESHAWAR - Following attack on Bacha Khan University, search and strike operations have been intensified in urban and rural parts of the city while FIRs are also being registered against those who are involved in violating rented building Act.

At least 40 suspected persons including 10 Afghan national have been arrested in the surrounding areas of Peshawar.

Security has been put on high alert for averting any possible attacks of the militants who have intensified their activities in and around the city.

Police have beefed up the security of all educational institutions, universities and colleges, while special SOPs have been issued to principle of the educational institutions to follow the security steps enlisted by the police department.

CCP urged upon the school principals to make sure installation of CCTV cameras, proper boundary walls, and security guard.

He also directed to make sure student cards and biometric attendance of the students in all government and private schools.

Chief of city police added that maintaining peace and tranquillity is collective responsibility of police and public and all possible steps would be taken to thwart the nefarious designs of terrorist elements.

He said that during school timing police squad will patrol the areas in all schools jurisdictions while school teachers and principals must ensure proper security and 14-feet high boundary walls around school premises.

On Thursday police had defused five explosive devices in jurisdiction of Phando Police station near Jamil square area which were planted below electricity pylons of high transmission lines.
