The government is striving hard to provide basic facilities of life to the masses at their doorsteps and billion of rupees are being spent on development schemes to lift standards of life across the province.

Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khawaja stated while addressing the inaugural ceremony of newly-constructed Tehsil Complex Pindi Bhattian completed with Rs50 million here the other day.

He said that the Punjab government is spending more than Rs2 billion to completed the ongoing and new development schemes including constructing of roads, reconstruction of dangers building of schools, provision of potable water, sewerage system, pavement of streets and rehabilitation of infrastructure in flood affected area in the district Hafizabad during current fiscal year.

He said that Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme is a revolutionary step of the present government and the Punjab government is spending Rs15 billion under the phase programme to ensure provision of batter communication facilities to farmers and other rural people.

He called upon government officials to perform their duties with the passion of national service and serve the humanity according to the teaching of Islam for success in this life and hereafter.

On the occasion, Hafizabad DCO Muhammad Usman, ADC Nauman Hafeez, District Officer (Coord) Sahid Ismail Mirza, EDO Education Iftikhar Nawaz Virk and Fakharul Islam Dogar appreciated the best performance of Shumail Ahmad Khawaja as Commissioner Gujranwala and services for the welfare for the people. The DCO also presented a souvenir to the Additional Chief Secretary Punjab.
