SAHIWAL-Armed dacoits shot dead a rickshaw driver on resistance near Chak 108/7R here on Friday.
According to police, rickshaw driver Ghulam Mustafa was taking passengers to Harappa from old Chichawatni. On the way near Chak 108/7R, four dacoits intercepted the rickshaw. The culprits attempted to snatch cash and other valuables but Mustafa resisted their bid. At which, they fired gunshots, killing the rickshaw driver on the spot. The dacoits managed to escape from the scene. The Harappa Police reached the spot and shifted the dead body to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
The police have registered a case against unidentified dacoits and started further investigation.
